As a lover of the liberal arts, I like to write poetry, lyrics to songs, plays, creative monologues, essays, short-stories, prose, and my favorite – “Letters” to people who love to connect and build good-healthy-life-giving friendships. I love co-creating that positive energy with the beautiful souls of our time. I’m a hopeless romantic and I like to laugh, so I enjoy watching romantic comedies & good love stories, but I also like to watch action/adventure & espionage movies like Marvel Comics Avengers and the Jason Bourne series. I love watching and listening to music videos and just listening to good music with a message from a wide variety of genres…from hip-hop, r&b/soul, classic rock, alternative, dance/pop, and reggae to salsa/meringue/bachata, classical, contemporary, oldies, country, jazz/blues, you name it. I like to keep an open mind to what’s out there. I read good books on history, culture, religion, philosophy, psychology,civil rights and contemporary social justice issues, and books about family, relationships, and community building.
I’m a family oriented man so I’m into taking care of home first. Love the children, talking with them, making them laugh. I’m a man of faith who prays for people and encourages others. . I believe in being a good man to my woman. I love a woman who’s sensitive, thoughtful, funny, passionate, loyal and is a woman of faith.
As a wrongly convicted man who’s actually innocent and (at the age of 23) was tortured by the Chicago Police Department into giving a false confession back in 2001, I’ve evolved to become a passionate advocate/activist for criminal justice & sentencing reform. As I continue to fight for my freedom in court, I’m also working to bring justice for victims of police abuse in our communities.

with each insert of the foot and each grip of the hand
let the foot hold embrace the thrust of all your hearts ambitions
as you pull your weight up with synchronized might
let your soul’s darkness rise like the Phoenix
and kiss the sun boldly a gentle goodnight
Rise, my friend…You are the paragon of virtue
reach for the summit of your eternal destiny
let the span of your majestic wings stretch
from the Milky way to Andromeda
let the elegance of your Aura shine, O divine feminine…
Fly, my friend…let the vertebrate be made whole
with thorough integrity
Beautiful golden-silver feathers
engulfing the breath of God

Soar high, Beloved…let your heart flow effortlessly
